On Thursday, Class 6 enjoyed a fabulous World War 2 day! We were visited by the Home Front Bus, an amazing museum on wheels! Inside, we: explored a typical home during the 1940s; visited a traditional corner shop, where we discussed food shortages and rationing; experienced a bombed street during the Blitz and took cover in an Anderson shelter. It was superb and really brought our WWII topic to life. Our visitor was incredibly impressed by the knowledge, enthusiasm and behaviour of Class 6. He described them as ‘a breath of fresh air’, well done Class 6! In addition to visiting the bus, in class, we enjoyed: reading and writing Morse Code messages, cracking cryptograms, making model spitfires and designing propaganda posters. What a brilliant day!
