Parents' Zone

Welcome to the Parents Zone. Here you will find useful information about day to day life at Felbridge School and also information to help your child do well at school.

Partnership

Felbridge Primary School is keen to work in partnership with parents of all our children. From the moment you express an interest in sending your child to Felbridge, we will work with you to make the admission process and the transition from pre-school to school as easy as possible. Having made an initial enquiry about admission to Felbridge Primary, you will be invited to attend an Open Morning. These are held once a term and, following a presentation, you will have a guided tour of the school.

Parents of children due to start school in September are invited to a meeting in May when they hear more about starting school at Felbridge Primary, are able to buy school uniform, sample our school meals and meet staff and other parents. Following your child’s induction visits to school the Foundation Stage team will visit you and your child at home.

Once your child has started school, there will be the opportunity to attend curriculum meetings. These meetings aim to provide parents with an insight into what is taught in school with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy. As your child progresses through the school you will be invited to attend various meetings, which will explain any issues surrounding transition from Foundation Stage to KS1, KS1 to KS2 and give you information regarding SATs testing.

Parent consultation evenings are held in the autumn and spring terms when you will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with their class teacher, and an annual report on their progress is sent home in July.

We encourage parents to raise any concerns they may have about their child or any aspect of school at the earliest opportunity. Depending on the nature of the concern, this should initially be raised with the class teacher. The Headteacher, Andrea Trigg will always be happy to discuss any concern a parent may have. We ask parents to make a request to see a member of staff through the school office, so that an appointment can be made.

We welcome parents into school at any time. Many of our parents come in to help in classes with a wide variety of activities from listening to readers to helping out with Art and Design Technology.
