Chequer Mead
Wednesday night this week saw Class 5 and 6 children performing at The Chequer Mead Theatre. They put on a production of Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits which was a play full of one line quips and gags. The children were absolutely amazing and performed brilliantly. Class 5 played a fantastic supporting role as guards, handmaids, bandits and market traders. Class 6 children had a wide variety of roles, each with a considerable number of words to learn.
We have such a wealth of talent and hope that some of these children will continue their acting and singing careers as they move to secondary schools.
Special thanks go to staff who ensured the children were fully prepared with costumes and scenery—Mrs Sims, Mrs Luckett, Mrs Pitt, Mrs Benwell, Mrs Pearce, Mrs Law and Mrs Wright. Thanks also to Graham Keetley and Nick Brand for transportation, to Kay Powell and Charlie Brown for costume making and to Steve Gallant for background scenery.
