Last week, Classes 1 and 2 enjoyed an afternoon of exploring the four countries of the UK as the start of their new topic 'We are Britain'. They investigated a 'curiosity cuboid', maps, globes and flags, famous landmarks of each country and, best of all, got to sample some food that each country is well known for! For those who were unable to extract this information from their children they had: leeks from Wales, tablet (like fudge), scotch pancakes and shortbread from Scotland, jam and cream scones with strawberries from England and soda bread from Northern Ireland.
