Football Friendly

Last week saw a special 9-a-side friendly match against East Grinstead Meads FC to unveil our new football kit.

The match started well and saw a closely battled first third finish 0-0 with both sides sharing possession and moving the ball well. The second third saw Cam switch kits and play for the Meads! A move which deemed to prove costly when the opposition managed to nick the lead with a thundering effort from the edge of the box. However we did not give up and continued to persevere and push for an equaliser. Sadly early in the second half Meads finished a well worked move to extend the deficit to 2 goals. With time running out we decided to push everyone forward and try and get ourselves back into the game, with some silky skills from Frankie, Toby proving a rock at the back as always and some 'Kyle Walker-esque' runs from Henry we managed to bundle home an equaliser. GAME ON! We continued to push and came close to levelling the game however our offensive prowess proved to be our downfall with Meads finishing off the game through a counter attack to take the game to 3-1. The boys played magnificently and represented the school in all the right ways.

Finally, a special thank you again must go to Simon Holroyd (Cameron's dad) and Dan Smith (Leila’s dad, year R) for sponsoring the kits which I am sure you will all agree look fantastic! Both parents agreed to not use their own company logos and allowed us to use the local charity Jigsaw. Jigsaw (South East) supports bereaved children, young people and their families and also those affected by a family member having a terminal diagnosis throughout Surrey, Sussex and surrounding areas. If you have any interest in sponsoring in any way, please contact the school office.
