On a wet and cold Wednesday both boys and girls teams were taking part in the next round of the East Grinstead Primaryship. The boys had a tricky first encounter against a well-drilled West Hoathly team. Going behind early on, it was vital we stuck together to overturn the deficit. Fortunately we did with Gemma latching on to a through ball, out-muscling the opposition defenders to blast home an equaliser. Our second game was against a far larger, stronger Copthorne team. It proved a tricky contest with us amassing a large deficit in the first half. The challenge in the second half was simple… keep the deficit smaller than the first, thankfully we did!
In their first game the girls took on The Meads, with great enthusiasm (and singing). Sadly we lost 1-0. Our second game was far more successful, with us coming away with a 2-0 victory. Goals being scored by Gemma and Isla-Rose, the latter celebrating with a no-handed cartwheel (obviously inspired by Mr Law). Assists coming from Isla-Rose and Paige respectively. It was a very rainy experience but we pushed through and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all! Thank you to all parents for transporting the children.
