Well done to the Felbridge White Socks and Blue Socks who played in the Primaryship football league on Wednesday.  Match report by Benjamin Benetar:

Manager—Janet McLaughlin stood in for Mr Law on this occasion.  She was a good coach and made us all warm up doing the weirdest of warm ups but it was fun.

First match for the White Socks against Turners Hill.  Callum in goal, Harry and Benjamin in defence, Luke, Tay and Sam midfield with Toby up front.  In the first half of the match Luke scored two goals with Toby scoring twice in the second half.  Felbridge won 4-0.  What an exciting start to the afternoon’s matches.

First match for the Blue Socks against St Peters School.  Connor in goal, Michael C and Rohan in defence, Max, Michael O and James midfield with Jamie up front.  Jamie carried out a roulette and James nutmeged a player and nearly scored.  He smashed the ball onto the side of the goal but everyone on the sideline thought he had scored until James shouted “it didn’t go in”.  A good try though.  Michael O’Brien scored in the second half.  Connor then made a great save as the other team were on the attack.  Jamie scored the second goal to make it 2-0 to Felbridge.

Second match for the White Socks against Halsford Park.  Sam scored the first goal which deflected off of the goal keeper.  He then scored a second.  Halsford Park were chasing our tails as we all worked hard together.  Halsford Park then scored and we ended the first half 2-1 up.  Halsford Park hit the post which rebounded straight in to Callum’s hands.  PHEW!  A few moments later they scored their second goal.  Now the pressure was on.  The mighty Toby scored to put Felbridge 3-2 up.  In the last couple of minutes Halsford Park got revenge and equalised making the final score a 3-3 draw.  We drew the last game but we were all still happy as it is better than losing.

We all went home really happy and enjoyed working hard together.  The parent spectators were great and well behaved.

Well done to Benjamin Benetar, Harry Colegate, Callum FitzHenry, Toby McLaughlin, Sam Mosley, Luke Georgiou, Tay Aitken, Max Kelly, James King, Michael Cottle, Rohan Salazar-Gray, Michael O’Brien, Jamie Davis and Connor Martell.  Thank you to Mr Law for coaching the team, Mrs McLaughlin for accompanying them on the day and to all the parents for their support and help in transporting the children.
