On Wednesday, Harrison, Katie, Alex, Summer, Lucy, Theo, Isla and Noah of Classes 5 and 6 competed in the East Grinstead Primary Schools Football League.
Summer, Kate and Lucy wrote this weeks match report:
“First we played Blackwell, Alex was in goal. It started off kind of rough, and as it got further into the game it got harder and Blackwell scored their first goal. With one minute remaining Noah, our team captain, was tackled and the opposing team scored yet another goal! Our second game was against St Peters, Katie was in goal. It started off well and we did not give up. Right before half-time we almost got a goal in, it was so close. A goal just slipped through Katie’s feet. After half-time we let in two goals, at that point Lucy tackled a boy on the other team to try and help but it was over. They had three goals, we had zero goals”.
Many thanks to Emma Eales for stepping in at the last minute to accompany the football team. If she hadn’t offered to help at the last minute the team would not have been able to take part, which would have been a shame. So thank you very much Emma and thank you to the other parents who helped to transport the children to the sports centre.
