Our Amazing Week! Class 5 and 6 - Home Front Bus and WW 2 Workshop
Class 5 and 6 have had 2 full days of excitement focussing on their topic, World War 2. On Thursday we were visited by the home front bus and the children experienced what it was like to be in an air raid shelter and learnt more about life in Britain on the home front. On Friday we were visited by Captain and Matron Buss, who spoke to the children about what life was like on the front line and showed them many artefacts from the war. Over the course of the 2 days the children also learnt how to sew, learnt how to carry out basic WW2 first aid, made a gas mask, tasted food from the 1940s and discovered just how much food was available to people during rationing.
