Wow! What a busy year last year was for sports at Felbridge. We attended 19 different sporting events, the third highest out of all East Grinstead schools. As with all sport there were both highs and lows. One particular high was our new girls’ football team that emerged over the course of last year. There looks to be some really talented footballers who have now gone into year 6 so watch this space for girls’ football this year!
We also developed some very keen runners last year and it was great to see so many children taking part in mini miles, the cross country competition and other events. This is largely thanks to Mr and Mrs Foster for their fantastic weekly running club that I know the children all enjoy very much! As a school we are very grateful. Thank you!
We have also managed to retain our GOLD School Games Mark for a second year in a row due to the number of children who had the opportunity to participate in competitions or act as crew trainers. The range of sporting equipment continues to grow and I would personally like to thank everyone who has collected Sainsbury’s Active Kid’s vouchers as this really does benefit the school. Through these vouchers, not only have we replenished existing equipment, but we have managed to purchase new crash mats for gymnastics and a set of tri golf which will add a new area of focus in PE lessons!
Finally I (and I am sure all the children) would like to thank all teachers and parents who accompanied or gave lifts to sporting events last year. We really could not do it without you.
