Just before the Easter holidays, Toucans class went on our residential trip to Ufton Court where we were transported back to Britannia in the Roman era. We learnt so much about Roman life. Our commanders were very tough as we got to grips with various military manoeuvres in the rain! We understood how 'augurs' used nature to interpret messages from the Roman gods. Some of us had to be blessed just because we were left-handed! We became experts at wattling, fire-lighting, making butter and flour. Our archery skills were so good that we earned ourselves a hearty meal at the Roman banquet. We even had to eat with our hands! We returned to school more resilient, more knowledgeable and of course having had the best time with our friends.
