Year 6 - Bluebell Railway
Last Friday, Year 6 took a trip into the past and spent the day as evacuees. We had an amazing time on the Bluebell Railway, travelling as evacuees would have done during World War 2. We learnt about 'Digging for Victory', sending postcards home, the games children played, how they were processed at the stations and singing songs to help keep up morale when the air raid siren went off and we had to head for the air raid shelter! We were lucky enough to go on the footplate of the steam engine - which was very hot and we all had a goody bag at the end of the day. We had a fantastic time and would like to thank The Bluebell Railway for a great experience.
