• Art Week

  The children have had a fantastic week of art making.  They have explored different countries and cultures and have learnt many new skills and techniques, some using media and materials they have not used before.  They have all produced beautiful individual artworks that have been framed for our exhibition. Each class has also been working on a large collaborative piece to replace the big artwork in the hall which we hope you will be able to enjoy when they are put up during the next half term. 

• Kwik Cricket

  'On Wednesday 20th May Olivia Marsden, Harrison Freear, Jack Powell, Eve Carey, Ben Foreman, Ashley Head, Jamie Webb, Cydney Fenwick, Gabriella  Williams-Gater, Harry Colegate and Callum FitzHenry went to the the Kwik Cricket tournament at the East Grinstead Sports Centre and came second in their group of five and fourth out of ten.  Well done for all the hard effort put into this triumph.  And a big thank you to Miss Tomlin for accompanying us, parents for transporting us and our East Grinstead cricket coach for coaching us.’

• Tennis Tournament

  Congratulations to all of the children who took part in the East Grinstead schools tennis tournament this week. 
  
  ‘On Wednesday we went to East Grinstead Tennis Club. First we watched Imberhorne and Sackville school players demonstrate how to use the activities and then we did them. After lunch we played against all the other schools and then replayed against Halsford Park and won 5-3. We came 4th overall out of 10 schools.’
  
  Well done to Luca Collman, Daniel Maddox, Jessica Wilson, Erin Thompson, Rhys Mitchell, Carter Williams-Gater, Ava Odedra-Sutton and Katie Dalziel. 

• Tag Rugby Tournament

  Last Friday, 10 children from Classes 4, 5 and 6 took part in the East Grinstead Schools’ Tag Rugby tournament. Our children played extremely well, managing a creditable 10^th place. They missed out on a play off place for    higher positions by 1 point – a real disappointment and their final position was not a true reflection of how well they had played. Thank you to Miss Simpson for accompanying the children and to Mr White for supporting the coaching. Thanks also to all parents who helped with transport and supported the children on the day. Very well done to Bobby Eke, Jamie Webb, Sam    Mosley, Amelia Corby, Zara Keetley, Scarlett Treadaway, Darcie Wilson,     Callum FitzHenry, Michael Cottle and Harry Stevenson.

• Dorking Halls Music Festival

  Wednesday evening saw 24 children from Class 3 taking part in one of the Surrey Schools’ Music Festivals alongside other local schools.  They performed beautifully, having learnt the words to 16 songs.  Well done to all those  children who took part—you helped to make it a very enjoyable evening for everyone who was there.
  
  We were all able to enjoy listening to a couple of their songs in assembly this morning.
