  • Monkeys (1) Reptile Visit!

    Thu 21 Oct 2021

This week, the children in Monkeys class have been learning all about reptiles!

We were very lucky on Monday to meet a range of animals in the reptile animal group including a snake, a bearded dragon and a gecko. The children were very brave and were even able to touch and hold some of the animals!

  • Football Tournament

    Thu 21 Oct 2021

Wow! What an exciting day of football for Felbridge. As the girls stood under the balcony sheltering from the rain the day looked in doubt, however thankfully the rain eased and we were able to get back out onto the pitch! The girls performed magnificently, moving the ball around and creating some great opportunities. Although we struggled to convert our chances to goals until later in the tournament when we scored our first goal, our defensive prowess proved enough and we managed to secure enough draws to pick up an overall 4th place finish– a fantastic effort from our girls.

The afternoon promised more football, from the boys team this time, and what a treat it was. I can honestly say that I have never seen such a complete team performance from any team at Felbridge. Every single child carried out their roles and represented the school magnificently, earning us a first place finish. Not only was the football they played first-class, but their attitudes were exemplary too.

Everyone at Felbridge should be incredibly proud of all the children's attitudes and performance.

A huge thanks go to the parents that helped to transport the children yesterday.  Without help from our parents, the children would not have the opportunity to take part in these wonderful sporting events.

  • Geckos (R) Takeover!

    Thu 21 Oct 2021

Whilst the rest of the school were at the Harvest service on Wednesday, Geckos decided to go and see parts of the school that they hadn't seen before. As a treat, they didn't have to be quiet as they walked through the corridors (poor Mrs Warland)! Their favourite part was going to Jaguars class and sitting in their reading buddies' seats!

  • Leopards (2) Great Fire of London

    Fri 15 Oct 2021

Leopards Class had great fun burning their mock Tudor houses to recreate The Great Fire of London. The children discussed how the city layout affected the fire and even saw the impact of the easterly wind by using a fan!

  • Monkeys (1) Class Travel and Animals

    Fri 08 Oct 2021

Monkeys class have been lucky enough to have two virtual lessons this week to learn lots more about both our topics! Our first workshop was with the London Transport Museum where we learnt all about how buses have changed through time!

We then had a Zoom session to learn all about elephants and found out lots of new information about them.

  • Macaws Class (5) and Jaguars Class (6) Egyptian Workshop

    Fri 08 Oct 2021

Last Thursday, Macaws and Jaguars enjoyed a fantastic Ancient Egyptian workshop. They were greeted by Ari, an Egyptian scribe who taught them about various aspects of Ancient Egyptian life.

Children have written what they enjoyed from the day:

Egyptian Games– We played two Egyptian games called Mancala and Senit.  They were hard to begin with but when you got the hang of it, it was quite easy– Breanna

Mummification– Ari showed us how to mummify a deceased body.  The worst bit was when he pulled the heart out by mistake, that was gross!- Heidi

City Builder– One of the workshops was City Builder, where you had 4,000 coins and you had to build a city with that money.  Then there were several world events and if you had a certain building you got points.  Whoever had the most points wins– Toby

Class 5 and 6 were treated to a day of topic fun! A man called Ari came in and both the classes did an artefact investigation.  We learnt about the Royal Boat, Cleopatra and how the Egyptian special colour is turquoise.  It was really interesting and we learnt so much!- Fleur, Neveah and Christian

On Thursday 30th September class 5 and 6 had a workshop with a man called Ari and we did hieroglyphics on real papyrus with a reed pen.  We wrote in hieroglyphics, “my name is … and I am learning to be a scribe” for our ancient Egyptian workshop.  We used papyrus, reed pens, black ink and a hieroglyphics stencil it was loads of fun!?- Isla-Rose, Fletcher and Sophie

  • Panda Class - Stone Age Poo!

    Fri 01 Oct 2021

Panda Class had great fun last week, investigating the diet of people during the Stone Ages. They all became palaeontologists and searched their stone Age coprolites (Stone Age poo!) looking for evidence of the food that had been eaten. They discovered fish bones, dandelions, lots of seeds and corn.
