  • Class 1 - Brighton Toy Museum

    Fri 29 Nov 2019

On Wednesday, 27th November Class One went on an exciting trip to the Brighton Toy Museum to further their learning on the topic of toys.

The children really enjoyed looking through the glass cabinets that are packed full with olden day toys.  They also had fun exploring many different types of toys ‘hands-on’, and were keen to find out how they moved and what different materials they were made from.  The treasure hunt to find George the bear and a doll called Crazy Alice also added to the fun.  After lunch the children drew pictures in their sketch books of the favourite toys they had spotted, and finished the day watching a Puppet show.

Thank you to Ms Griffiths, Mrs Lavington, Mrs Burdon, Mrs Grey, Mrs Hiller and Mrs Andrews for accompanying the children.

  • Football League

    Fri 29 Nov 2019

“When we got there we were one man down, so Zack from Baldwins Hill had to fill in. Sadly we lost 1-0.  Then we played two different matches at the same time.  The one Katie played in was 0-0.  The one George played in unfortunately we lost 3-0.  Two days later we stood up in assembly and Mr Law told everyone what happened”

  • Performance Assembly

    Fri 29 Nov 2019

We were spoilt this morning to a jam-packed performance assembly where the children of Felbridge showed off their musical talents.  To begin, Class 5 entertained us on the trumpets; after only ten lessons, they have made remarkable progress and performed a number of tuneful pieces.  Well done Class 5!  We also enjoyed a variety of performances from a number of children across Key Stage 2, from solo a cappella tunes to instrumental ditties on the banjo and piano.  The children should all be incredibly proud of themselves, their musical talent, and the courage they demonstrated in performing in front of a large audience.  Well done to everyone who performed!

  • Football League

    Fri 22 Nov 2019

The children entered into the first round of the Primaryship football league with great excitement and anticipation. We were right to be excited as the children got off to a brilliant start with a great win against West Hoathly. The children all worked very well as a team and James even managed to bag a hat-trick!

In our second game we came up against much tougher opposition in the form of Turners Hill. Unfortunately we got off to a slow start, with Turners Hill scoring during their first attack of the game. At the end of a tough first half we turned our attention to the second and ensured we gave a better performance. We quickly imposed ourselves on the game putting some nice passing moves together and on occasion we were very unlucky to not score. James again unlucky not to score by narrowly hitting the post.

All the children represented the school brilliantly conducting themselves in a good competitive sporting manner. Special mention must go to Joseph Keetley who spent a bitterly cold afternoon in goal!

Thank you to all the parents who helped to transport the children to the sports club.

  • Class 6 STEM Week (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)

    Fri 15 Nov 2019

Class 6 have produced some fabulous non-chronological reports this week. As part of STEM Week, they used the Internet to research and gather facts about Thomas Edison. They then carefully considered the layout and presentation of their reports. The final results were very impressive. Well done Class 6!

  • Class 2 Assembly

    Fri 15 Nov 2019

This morning we had the pleasure of watching Class 2’s assembly around their Autumn term topic , ‘Terrific Transport’.  We were taken on a journey through their learning, from their range of creative  artwork, historical understanding and imaginative remix of one of our favourite Harvest songs!  It was also lovely to hear about their recent trip to The Bluebell Railway.  Well done Class 2 and thank you for sharing all of your wonderful learning with us.

  • STEM Week (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)

    Fri 15 Nov 2019

This week has been STEM Week (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). We have had great fun exploring, experimenting, designing, creating, discussing, predicting, explaining and reflecting. We have worked in mixed age groups to design and build marshmallow and spaghetti towers. We have investigated: the strength of different shaped columns, floating and sinking oranges and creating a vacuum with holey water bottles, to name just a few of the activities that we have enjoyed. It has been a fun-filled week of learning, with a lot of collaborative learning.
