  • Felbridge in the Community

    Fri 20 Dec 2019

The children have been creating Christmas cards for elderly and vulnerable people in our community.  On Monday this week Cecily and Toby from Class 4 visited St John’s church to deliver some of the cards

They represented the school beautifully, enjoyed singing the carols and were very confident handing out the Christmas cards.

A member of the congregation thanked the school, he thought the children were great and their involvement really was appreciated.

Well done Cecily and Toby for representing Felbridge so well.

  • Class 2 and 4 - Writing

    Fri 20 Dec 2019

Classes 2 and 4 enjoyed sharing the writing they'd done around the 'Bear and Hare' John Lewis advert. Class 2 had written about bear's first Christmas and Class 4 had retold the story from the video in their own words. The children shared with each other the writing that they'd done and then we all discussed what we enjoyed about the different pieces of writing. It was a lovely opportunity for the different classes to see what the other had been doing.

  • Junior Carol Service

    Fri 20 Dec 2019

A huge well done to all the Juniors for their superb performance at the Junior Christmas services  on Tuesday afternoon and evening at St John’s Church.  The children made us very proud with their beautiful singing. Our sincere thanks go to St John’s church and their team for making us so welcome, to John Crossman who played the piano beautifully and all the Junior staff for their hard work in preparation for the service.   Thank you to all parents who attended and gave generously to our collections.  Together with collection from the Infant Christmas collections, we raised a total of £456.50 which will be divided between St John’s Church and Crawley Open House.

  • Class 4 - Viking Day

    Fri 06 Dec 2019

Class 4 had an amazing day travelling back in time to the Viking era for their Viking workshop. Led by Bjorn the Viking, the children acted out the first Viking raid at Lindisfarne, ground flour using a quern stone and enjoyed trying on Viking clothing and examining jewellery.

Moving on to Viking past times, the children took part in dice games and tried to outwit each other on a board game. The children's Viking spirit became apparent in the stick wrestling as well as creating a Viking shield wall and following commands. The day was rounded off by the teachers acting out The Battle of Hastings!
