  • Wellbeing Workshops

    Fri 24 Mar 2023

Geckos, Monkeys, Leopards and Pandas all really enjoyed their wellbeing workshops on Monday which were kindly led by Louise from Openview Education.

It was really helpful and interactive with lots of puppets and story telling! Louise gave us lots of hints and tips as to how to look after our own wellbeing including; getting a good night’s sleep, sharing our feelings with a trusted person and breathing exercises.

  • Macaws Class - Pop-up Books

    Fri 24 Mar 2023

Macaws Class have worked incredibly hard on designing and creating their pop-up books. They investigated and incorporated different moving mechanisms and have taken great care over the presentation of their books, with some fabulous artwork. Last Friday, they shared their books with Monkeys Class. Both classes really enjoyed looking at the books together. Well done Macaws!

  • Geckos at Ashdown Forest

    Fri 24 Mar 2023

Geckos had the BEST time at Ashdown Forest on Wednesday, despite the rain and mud (sorry to their parents who had to deal with the aftermath)! We had a lovely lady called Lisa who led our day which involved; making boats out of logs, sticks and leaves which they then sailed in puddles, playing hide and seek, making Nightjar bird kites and lots of walking! I was so impressed with all of the children for their excellent listening skills and resilience throughout the day! Thank you to the lovely parents who came to help us and thank you to the parents who dropped the children off and collected them!

  • Geckos - People Who Help Us visits

    Fri 17 Mar 2023

On Tuesday, Geckos had a very exciting visit from Lingfield fire service who taught them all about fire safety and what it's like to be a firefighter! They got to try on uniform, go in the fire engine, use the hose and listen to the sirens!

A huge thank you is also owed to Matt, Sam (police officers) and Sophie (paramedic) who have also been in to chat about their incredible jobs!

If you have a job which helps people and you're willing, please contact Miss Pringle about coming in to speak to Geckos class.

  • Toucans Visit to the Ashdown Forest

    Fri 10 Mar 2023

Toucans Class visit to Ashdown forest involved getting soaking wet but having an amazing time. We learnt so much about the area, learning that it is located between the North and South Downs.

We found out about the wildlife and habitats and enjoyed it when Alisha got dressed up as a nightjar bird. We then played a game to learn how it nests and avoids capture from foxes.

Our mapping skills are much better too. A great activity was creating 3D maps from nature.

Our resilience in coping with adverse weather conditions has dramatically improved - it's actually quite a lot of fun learning in the rain!

  • Star Gazing Fun

    Fri 10 Mar 2023

“In the first activity we took milk bottles and paper cones and placed the paper cones on top of the milk bottle and BASHED the milk bottle sides to make the paper cones shoot up into the air like a rocket.

Secondly, we drank warm hot chocolate with whipped cream and sprinkles with a biscuit on the side.  It was DELICOUS! Afterwards we made our own rockets by getting a plastic cup and filling it with water then we added a tablet and quickly closed the pot and turned it upside down and blasted it in the air.

Later we were shown the names of the amazing stars in the night sky.

We also saw Mars!”                                                                                                                                                  By Tommy, Tegan and Romy

  • Swimming Gala

    Fri 10 Mar 2023

After much anticipation and build up, a group of year 4, 5 and 6 children headed over to the Kings Centre for the East Grinstead swimming gala, and what a fantastic evening we had.

The children were amazing and everyone of them did so well.  We took two medals and a shield back to school courtesy of Anja and Gemma and finished in a very respectable 6th place overall.  What was most impressive was the support and encouragement all the children showed throughout the evening - we may not have won the competition but we definitely would have won loudest supporters!!!

Everyone of the children who took part should be immensely proud of themselves and how well they represented Felbridge Primary School.  Thank you to all the parents and special thanks to Simone Brissett who helped chaperone and organise the children with me on the night.   Ashley Morgan

Huge thanks go out to Ashley Morgan for arranging the gala again for us again this year, it is hugely appreciated.

  • Pandas - Ancient Greek Workshop

    Fri 03 Mar 2023

In Panda class the children thoroughly enjoyed learning lots and engaging with a range of activities during our Ancient Greek Workshop. They had fun battling it out using tactics from the time; writing using the Ancient Greek alphabet on papyrus paper as well as playing some Ancient Greek games too.

  • Netball Tournament

    Fri 03 Mar 2023

On Wednesday, a group of children from year 5 & 6 played in a netball tournament against other local schools at the East Grinstead Sports Club.

Our first game was against an incredibly strong Baldwins Hill team. The team didn't let that get the better of them and made an incredible come back against Halsford Park winning 1:0. Our third game was close and came down to their wire, resulting in a draw against Crawley Down. The final match against West Hoathly, started off well but in the final half, they successfully got through our defence and beat us 3:1.

The overall results of the tournament - we came in at an amazing 3rd place.

Well done to all the children who played. You showed resilience when the games went against us & grew as a team as the afternoon went on. There was some real skill shown amongst the team.
