  • Class 3 and 4 - Visit to Juniper Hall

    Fri 11 Jun 2021

Classes 3 and 4 have had a fantastic time at Juniper Hall and the River Tillingbourne.  The staff at the centre were very impressed by the children’s scientific knowledge and their prediction skills.

The first activity was using sand trays to model the whole river, making predictions, and describing findings.

We then travelled to the river and learnt about which part of the river is fastest and why.

Finally, all the children took part in mini raft building using natural materials.  The children then raced their mini rafts at the Juniper Hall regatta!  A great day was had by all!

  • Class 1 and 2 - Carnival of Animal Topic

    Fri 11 Jun 2021

This week, Classes 1 and 2 had some visitors! On Tuesday, Mrs Luckett brought in one of her corn snakes, Sid. The children have been learning about reptiles this week as part of their 'Carnival of the Animals' topic. They enjoyed asking questions about Sid, finding out about what he eats, how to take care of a snake and where corn snakes originate from. Then, on Thursday, Mrs Warland's daughter Alyssa, brought in her bearded dragon, Lilo, her hognose snake, Salem, two crested geckos, Apollo and Athena, and her leopard gecko Astro. The children had the opportunity to hold Lilo and Alyssa gave them lots of facts and information about each reptile.
