  • Leopards (2) Amberley Museum

    Fri 24 Jun 2022

“Yesterday Leopards Class went to the Amberley Transport Museum on two minibuses! First of all we went to a printing through the ages shop. I was so surprised because the printers used to be massive! Next on the agenda was a train ride to the top of the museum site. We even had to get tickets for the train!” Mickey

“Then we split into two groups and saw buses and a wheel. It was so fun. We also looked at the similarities and differences between old and new buses and had to guess which was the oldest, I got it right! Then we got to ride on the open top buses as well. We had to wear hats because that's what people did in the olden days. I was a bit scared, because it felt so high, but it was actually quite fun”. Bella

“After that we had lunch, it was so yummy. Next we explored the site in our groups. In the electricity section the man gave a voltage display. He showed us 3 different types of electricity. The tesla coil was 500,000 volts! Finally we got back on the mini buses and came back to school”. Beau N

A massive thank you to Mrs Pellet, Mrs Pavitt, Mrs Nicholas and Mrs Ellis for accompanying the children.

  • Kwik Cricket Finals

    Fri 24 Jun 2022

On Tuesday, Felbridge took part in the second round of the Mid-Sussex Kwik Cricket Finals having qualified in May. We were drawn against a very strong Lindfield team in our first game. The boys played magnificently and took the game to the final over, narrowly losing by 15 runs. In our second game we overcame another tough side in St. Laurence (Burgess Hill) this time after some tricky bowling from James and some key wickets from Frankie secured a strong 30 run victory. Our final game saw us take on a phenomenal team in Harlands. Again the boys competed magnificently however this time we succumbed to a 40 run loss. Both Lindfield and Harlands ended up winners of the competition with Felbridge taking a very respectable third place.

  • Area Sports

    Fri 24 Jun 2022

On Wednesday 22nd June, a small group of KS2 children went to Sackville School to represent Felbridge in the ‘Area Sports’.  The children had been selected following their superb performances in the trials held at school and competed, on Wednesday, in a variety of track and field events against other local primary schools.  The children gave their best performances and should be proud of their efforts – they ran quickly, jumped far and threw well.  After many outstanding individual and team performances, we finished 2nd in the small schools competition, just 2 points adrift of 1st place!  The children should be incredibly proud, not only of their athletic performances, but of their behavior too – they represented the school impeccably.

  • Stool Ball Tournament

    Fri 17 Jun 2022

On Wednesday, 8 children made their way to the East Grinstead Sports Club for a stool ball tournament. Helped by the sunny weather, the day was absolutely fabulous! The team worked incredibly together from the start, and we only got better as we went on to win 5 out of our 6 games. The children supported each other fantastically and communication was a key component in our success! A special mention to Hugo who had 6 outstanding games scoring us many 4's and 6's. As always, the children were a credit to our school.

A big thanks to Mrs Eales and Mrs Andrews for helping with lifts and providing us with a giant seat as well as a much needed ice lolly!

  • Monkeys (1) Visit to Leeds Castle

    Fri 17 Jun 2022

On Monday, year 1 took a trip to Leeds Castle. We arrived (in the gorgeous sunshine) and were taken to a 'Swan Princess' workshop where all the children dressed up in costume to retell the famous castle tale. After this, we had lunch (which some ducks and seagulls tried to taste!) before having some free time on the castle playground. After this, we took a guided tour around the castle to learn some new facts and information to inform our history topic. As always, the children behaved incredibly and represented Felbridge fabulously.

  • Toucans (4) Tri Golf

    Fri 10 Jun 2022

On a particularly damp Tuesday afternoon, a team of 10 Year 4 children went to the East Grinstead Sports Club for a Tri Golf Festival. They competed against 8 other schools and had to complete 10 activities, which were led by Sports Leaders from a local school. The children started off with little to no experience of golf and soon picked up some professional skills! They learnt how to drive the ball over a long distance as well as put it with increasing accuracy. As usual, they did Felbridge proud with their excellent behaviour and fantastic sportsmanship. Overall, the team came 5th, thoroughly enjoying the afternoon despite the challenging weather conditions.

Our thanks to Matthew’s mum for helping with transport.

  • Geckos (R) Godstone Farm

    Fri 10 Jun 2022

On Thursday, Geckos enjoyed a day out at Godstone Farm. They saw lots of animals, big and small, and even got to feed some donkeys and geese! After lunch, they completed the dinosaur trail and had a go in the park. We were very lucky with the weather and only felt a few spots of rain, but they were having too much fun to notice! The class behaved well and were a great representation of Felbridge! A huge thanks is owed to our lovely volunteers for coming along with us and to Godstone Farm for having us!
