  • Cricket Competition

    Thu 25 May 2023

Cricket season is finally here and what a beautiful day greeted us as we took part in the annual East Grinstead Cricket tournament.

The children started well with a narrow 5 run loss to St. Peters. The boys responded well with some clever hitting from Joshua to overcome a good Blackwell team. The team stuck together and morale was kept high by some positive leadership from Arnav, which allowed us to finish with a respectable 3rd place finish.

Well done to all the boys who took part and represented the school magnificently.

  • Pandas Class - Vegetable Tarts

    Thu 25 May 2023

Pandas class carefully followed a recipe to make vegetable tarts using some seasonal vegetables. They safely prepared and cut each vegetable (mushrooms, rocket and tomatoes) and arranged them onto their pastry base. They then safely baked their tarts in the oven until they were golden brown. Pandas class then tasted their creations and a lot of the children were surprised by how much they enjoyed them!

  • Year 4 - Roman Villa Groma

    Fri 19 May 2023

Yesterday, the children tried to map out the perimeter of an actual Roman villa that was discovered in Norfolk. They used a Roman groma, a tool used to measure and lay out accurately. See below for how they did. The towers are a bit wonky but overall a great effort!

  • Year 4 - Tennis Festival Skills

    Fri 19 May 2023

Some children from Toucans class went to the East Grinstead tennis club to learn about the different skills with other schools from around East Grinstead.  We were there to learn about new skills and manoeuvres.  It was really exciting and superb.  Everyone learnt how to serve in all sorts of different ways we never knew about!  An example of this was an underarm serve which we found tricky but we were all capable in the end.

My favourite thing was the rallies because it was probably the most fun thing we did there.

We learnt all the different scores we could earn if you got it past the opponents defence line.

It made me feel like I had achieved something great!”

  • Girls Football at Ardingly College

    Fri 19 May 2023

Today Year 5 and 6 girls were invited to Ardingly College to play in a girls football festival. The girls all arrived at the magnificent facilities with great enthusiasm. We quickly got stuck into a game of sharks and seaweed as a warm up and then took part in a carousel of skill development activities.  The girls all showed great focus and determination, making fantastic developments in their footballing abilities! Following this, we took part in a round “Round Robin” style tournament against the other teams. The girls all played magnificently, moving the ball with pace and fluency, scoring some great goals, and picking up some wins in the process.

Well done to all the girls and thankyou to all the parents for transporting.

  • Geckos and Monkeys - Arundel Castle

    Fri 19 May 2023

On Friday last week, Geckos and Monkeys had a fantastic time on their trip to Arundel Castle! They learnt all about the different features of a castle, how people used to live and even got to dress up! Of course, they all said their favourite part was lunch time, but they were all smiling all day!

  • Tri Golf

    Fri 12 May 2023

On Wednesday, a group of Year 4 children went to the Mid Sussex Active Tri-Golf tournament. They took part in 7 different activities against local schools. The children played really well and achieved some good results. The favourite activity involved targeting specific cones to achieve 1, 5 or 10 points. We achieved over 130 points in 5 minutes!
