Pandas Class - Samba Workshop
Fri 25 Feb 2022Pandas Class had an exciting visitor, Jim, who came on Monday morning. He taught us all about Samba! We played various Samba instruments and explored the use of different rhythms to make a piece of Samba music. Everyone was wearing their stunning tie dye shirts…it really felt like a Brazilian Carnival!

Macaws Class—Hindu Festival Raksha Bandham
Fri 11 Feb 2022This week, Macaws Class have enjoyed learning about the Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan, celebrating the love between siblings. During the festival, Rakhi bracelets are exchanged. We made our own origami Rakhi bracelets. We had to persevere and help each other, as they were very tricky and fiddly to make! We were really proud of our, very effective, finished products!

Pandas Class—Dental Nurse Visit
Fri 11 Feb 2022Pandas are thoroughly enjoying their current Science topic, Animals including Humans, and were lucky enough to be visited by a dental nurse! They learnt about the different types of teeth and the importance of keeping teeth clean. They also discovered the amount of sugar in certain foods and drinks…many have now sworn-off chocolate and sweets (at least for now!)

Toucans Class – Visit to Ashdown Forest
Fri 11 Feb 2022Toucans class had the best day visiting Ashdown Forest. We had so much fun learning about the landscape and its habitats. Our morning was filled with activities such as drawing the beautiful landscape on each other's backs; learning about the nightjar bird and how it nests and finding a spring and having a great game of micro Pooh sticks. We did all of this and more on a very long walk! In the afternoon, we made dens for either tourists or Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends. Our teamwork was brilliant. What a wonderful day we had!

Jaguars (6) - Phases of the Moon
Fri 04 Feb 2022On Thursday afternoon, Jaguars class enjoyed learning about the phases of the moon in their Science lesson. Aside from learning lots of new vocabulary to describe the different ways we see the moon, they particularly enjoyed eating their Oreo representations afterwards!

Geckos (R) Gingerbread Men
Fri 04 Feb 2022After their literacy learning which has been based on the well-known story of 'The Gingerbread Man', Geckos made their very own gingerbread men (thankfully none of them ran away)! They were all very good at rolling out the dough and carefully using the cookie cutters to get the right shape. Few of the biscuits made it past 3:05pm so we're assuming they tasted okay!
