  • Class 6 Gymnastics

    Fri 30 Nov 2018

Class 6 enjoyed their final gymnastics session with Plamen, our gymnastics coach.

We worked together, co-operating and supporting and encouraging each other to create counter balances. Some of the balances were really challenging but we persevered and made great progress during the lesson, with some very impressive results.

Thank you to Plamen and well done to Class 6.

  • Performance Assembly

    Fri 30 Nov 2018

A huge well done to all those children who participated in yesterday's Performance Assembly. We were entertained by Class 5 trumpet players, assorted groups of singers including the school choir and a pianist. All the children were brilliant and showed great confidence in their performances.

Thank you to Mrs Luckett and Mrs Egan for organising and to all parents who came to watch.

  • Football Tournament - Match Report

    Fri 23 Nov 2018

“On Wednesday, 21st November, we had a great afternoon at the East Grinstead sports club. We played two 25 minute games. Our first match was against West Hoathly school. Jay scored an outstanding goal into the top corner, then Mikey went past all the defenders and placed the ball in the bottom corner. It was a brilliant goal. After that the team were still strong and Fletch scored a mind blowing goal from outside the box and the crowd cheered! Not long after that the ref blew his whistle. 3—0 us!

On to our next match—we were against a better and stronger team, Turners Hill. They had a few shots but they went wide, but eventually they scored which made the team determined and stayed resilient. During the second half they kept their lead but near the end Fletch scored an incredible goal—he went past a few players and smashed it into the back of the net. Everyone went mad. When the ref blew the whistle for full-time the score was 1 - 1. That is a brilliant start of the season”

  • Class 1 - Brighton Toy Museum

    Fri 23 Nov 2018

On Thursday Class 1 went to visit the Brighton Toy Museum to learn more about toys from the past. We learnt all about what toys were made of and how they moved and were even allowed to play with and handle some of them. One of the best bits was the puppet show at the end!

Thank you very much to Mrs Lavington, Mrs Kallmann, Mrs McFarlane, Mrs Mugliston and Mrs Wheatley for coming with us.

  • Class 2 - London Transport Museum

    Fri 23 Nov 2018

On Thursday, Class 2 went to the London Transport museum in Covent Garden. On arrival at the museum the children had a quick lunch before exploring the different exhibits. There were lots to see and fun things to do. The children got to go on a range of trains and buses from different eras and had an insight into what future travel could be like. The children also had a look at horse drawn carriages and how they were the main modes of public transport until the 18th century.

Fun fact: Did you know there were over 1,000 tonnes of horse manure collected everyday from the streets of London?!

The children behaved fantastically, even with four hours on a coach.

Thank you to Mrs Horton, Mrs Wraight, Mr Bushell, Miss O’Brien, Miss Robinson, Miss East, Miss Baxter, Mrs North, Mrs Polley and Miss Lamb for accompanying the children for the day.

  • Sunflower Assembly

    Fri 23 Nov 2018

Felbridge had an exciting assembly on Wednesday with a visit from Michelle, the CEO of Melanoma Fund, a local charity situated in Felbridge. The Melanoma charity raises money and awareness of melanoma cancer.

This summer several children purchased sunflower seeds to support this charity. There were five winners, Ben Class R, Henry Class 3 , Fletcher and Darcy Class 2 and the winner, Rowan Class 3. Rowan's tallest sunflower was an impressive 3 meters and 10cm!

Thank you to all the children that purchased seeds, we will continue to support this charity next year by selling sunflower seeds.

  • History Workshops

    Fri 16 Nov 2018

“The history workshop was enjoyable because we learnt lots of historical things such as there were different periods of time like the Palaeolithic  times and Neolithic times and they are times in the Stone Age.

We learnt about the different houses people used to live in at those times.  They used thatch for the roofing in Stone Age times.  In Stone Age times everyone had to work, even children.  The best thing about the workshop were the different periods.

“The lady who came was called Athena, she is a Greek god and taught us a lot about the ancient Greeks.

We enjoyed the ten second pictures because some of them were quite funny.  The only thing that we didn't know was that women weren't allowed to compete in the Olympics.”

    By Katie and George—Class 4

Class 5 have really enjoyed learning about the Stone Age this week. They had a great time in their drama workshop on Monday learning all about the different parts of the Stone Age. Then on Wednesday, they created their own Stone Age inspired cave paintings, using sticks and leaves to paint with!
