  • Class 1 Assembly

    Wed 31 Jan 2018
This morning we welcomed Class 1 parents to join us in listening to their children’s assembly.  Class 1 entered the hall as ‘Planet Earth Superheroes’ and told us how we can look after the world we live in.  They told us how to save water, electricity and paper, how to put out litter in the bin, how to look after birds in the winter and how to reduce, re-use and recycle.  They also showed us their artwork, the plants they have been growing and sung us a song—twice!

An information packed assembly, well done Class 1!
  • Night Owls

    Wed 31 Jan 2018
On Wednesday we were treated to an owl display.  The children all learnt some very interesting facts and were amazed to see the owls fly.  Following on from the display the children all took part in some class based learning and they all had the opportunity to hold an owl.

“It was fun when we had the owls on our shoulders and they took our pictures”—Annabel Bornati-Jones

“Fabulous display from the 6 or 7 owls. We also enjoyed sketching the owls” —Isabelle Hounslow
  • Champion Chanzige Quiz at Imberhorne

    Wed 31 Jan 2018
Felbridge staff had a fun night out last Friday, entering three teams into the quiz at Imberhorne School.

Things got slightly competitive but we ended up with some brilliant results with two of our teams coming 2nd and 3rd!! We will be swotting up in order to win next year.!

The quiz was all in aid of Champion Chanzige and the Primary Schools we support in Tanzania. Over £1800 was raised which is an incredible amount.
    Well done everyone!
  • Football

    Wed 31 Jan 2018
One cold afternoon in January at East Grinstead Sports Club a few young sporting warriors went to battle against rival primary schools in the next round of the Primaryship football league.  All three matches were bland and dry like a winter’s grip and Rhys M was incredibly cold as he had nothing to do in goal!!  The first two games were fiery 0-0 draws but we should have won, however the third game was a 1-1 draw.  Mr Law commented that it was like watching a young Paul Scholes when Kian volleyed the ball in to the back of the net from Rhys H’s corner!  Well done to all the sporting warriors who attended.

Thank you to Mr Law for accompanying the children and to those parents who helped with transport.
  • Basketball Festival

    Fri 26 Jan 2018
On Wednesday afternoon Felbridge took part in a basketball festival at Imberhorne.

It was an action packed, challenging  afternoon where we learnt many new skills and were able to put them to the test in a mini tournament. Our squad of 8 players, most of whom had never played basketball before, played brilliantly to beat the three other schools in our group. We qualified for the final match against West Hoathly and came a valiant 2nd! Ms Griffiths and Miss Rice were incredibly proud of our girls and boys who were fantastic role models for the school in their determination and sportsmanship. Well done, Team Felbridge:  Finn Devery, Daisy Titchener, Kian Bottomley, Rhys Mitchell, Chloe Lacey, Kamdyn Bunting, Millie Wilson, Summer Hudson Moffett.
  • Environment Club

    Fri 12 Jan 2018
Class 3 and Class 4 students have really enjoyed designing and decorating their own reusable canvas shopping bags, which they will take home to reduce the use of wildlife-harming plastic bags.

The children were shocked to learn that sea turtles often mistake plastic bags for jellyfish and accidentally eat them, so they wanted to do something and came up with the idea of making reusable bags.

Their next project is to raise more awareness of the danger sea creatures are in from plastic rubbish and they are going to make large collages from Quality Street wrappers. If you would like to send some into school to help with our artwork it would be much appreciated! Please label them for Miss Jebb in Class 4.
